Will Google Pull Out of the Sprint - Clearwire Deal?
This is an ongoing opinion, so check back often for updates.
Google has pulled out of the Yahoo deal, the FCC 700 MHz Auction, and many other rumored deals over the last few years. Will the trend continue?
In early November of this year, Google Inc pulled out of a search advertising partnership with Yahoo Inc due to regulatory objections, causing Yahoo shares to rise as investors hoped the move could lead to a resumption of deal talks with Microsoft Corp.
Some Blogs and opinions said the Yahoo-Google deal was a ploy to weaken Yahoo.
Later, Google pulled out of the 700 MHz auction after demanding a lot of changes from the FCC prior to the auction.
Now, Google is saying they will invest $500 million in the new Sprint/Clearwire deal if approved by the FCC. Well, as we all know, the FCC approved the deal on Nov 4, 2008. So I have to ask myself, "Will Google pull out of this deal as well?"
